Prathap Modi is an eminent Indian printmaker born in 1983 in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. He obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Printmaking from Andhra University in 2005 and a Master of Visual Arts (MVA) in Printmaking from Maharaja Sayajirao University in Baroda in 2007, where he was awarded gold medals at both levels.

Modi is renowned for his intricate woodcuts, a technique that involves carving designs into blocks of wood which are then inked and pressed onto paper. His works often explore themes of human isolation, nature and cosmic silence. A notable series, 'Silence, Space, Terrestrial', shows human figures and animals floating in celestial and terrestrial spaces, creating a sense of deep stillness and reflection.

He has held several solo exhibitions, notably at the Galerie Felix Frachon in Brussels, at the Centre culturel d'Uccle during Europalia India in Belgium, and at various venues in India. He has exhibited his work in leading galleries and art fairs in India and abroad, including the Lalit Kala Akademi in New Delhi, Gallery OED in Kochi and the Vadehra Art Gallery in New Delhi.

Modi has also participated in numerous artist residencies, including Space 118 in Mumbai, Brussels Art Factory in Belgium and HOM Art Trans in Kuala Lumpur. He has received numerous awards and scholarships, including the HRD National Scholarship in 2007 and the Ravi Jain Annual Show Fellowship Award for Graphic Design from the Dhoomimal Gallery in 2006.
